Candidates who intend to take the CUET 2022 exam must be well-versed in all aspects of the exam. This article aims to help applicants obtain all possible information about the exam. The CUET is an annual test administered by the National Test Agency to enroll students in a variety of UG-level programs offered by participating universities. This test has been made mandatory to join all the central universities.

The exam was first introduced in 2010 for admission to seven core institutions for undergraduate, diploma or certificate, and integrated postgraduate programs. The Union education ministry, on the other hand, has made the exam mandatory for admission to central universities, such as Visva Bharati and Delhi University. In 2022, 57 central universities and other institutions are going to take part in the National Testing Agency’s Computer Based Test.

CUET Eligibility

Students of class 12 are eligible to apply for the exam. If a university allows students from past years of class XII to enroll in the current year, they will be able to take the CUET.

Here are some general admission requirements for UG and PG programs:

For UG

General candidates must score at least 50% in Class XII or an equivalent exam. Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST): A minimum of 45 percent in Class XII or an equivalent exam.

For PG

Candidates applying for a master’s degree must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. To be eligible for CUET 2022, candidates applying for admission must have a minimum of 55 percent for General/ 50 percent for SC/ST/BC.

It is recommended that candidates review the eligibility requirements of the respective university.

CUET Important Dates

  • CUET is now accepting applications, and the last date is May 6, until 11.30 p.m.
  • The deadline for paying the exam fee online is the fourth week of June. In the same week, the admission card will be released.
  • The exam date is not fixed as of now but will be conducted in the first or second week of July.
  • The provisional answer key is released in the fourth week of July.
  • Release of the final answer key in the second week of August.
  • Results in the third week of August.

NTA CUET 2022 Courses

Through CUET 2022, students can enroll in a variety of courses. Universities choose which courses students can enroll in through CUET. Here are some of the university courses available.

UG courses

Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Education (BEd), Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Law (LLB), and Bachelor of Vocational Studies (BVSc).

Integrated PG courses

Master of Arts (MA), Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Education (MEd), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Commerce (MCom), Master of Business Administration (MBA), , Master of Computer Applications (MCA), and Master of Architecture (March).

CUET Coaching

Taking coaching is a typical way to pass the CUET exam. Students who take CUET coaching have a higher success rate than those who do not. As a result, selecting the best CUET coaching, whether offline or online, boosts the possibilities of learning and acquiring abilities.

Application Fees

Aspirants can use avail of both online and offline payment options for the examination. The following is the exam fee structure:

  • 650 rupees for general candidates
  • General Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and OBC Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) candidates have to pay Rs 600
  • SC, ST, PwBD, and Third gender have to pay Rs 550
  • All candidates taking the CUET 2022 at a center outside of India will be charged Rs 3,000.

CUET Exam Pattern

CUET is a computer-based test that must be taken at assigned examination centers. Aspirants can write the exam in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam, Odia, and Urdu. The questions format will be multiple-choice questions.

CUET will consist of 4 sections:

  • Section IA- 13 Languages
  • Section IB 20 Languages
  • Section II- 27 Domain-Specific Topics
  • Section III- General Test

Five marks will be awarded to the candidates for each correct answer. But, please note that one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Results and Counseling

Results will be announced on the official CUET website. Moreover, the merit list and cut-off marks depend on each university. Selected candidates have to attend counseling at their respective universities. The dates and other details will be shared on the universities’ websites.
