CUET Preparation Tips 2022

The Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) has recently been renamed (CUET) Central Universities Entrance Test by the National Testing Agency. Through CUET 2022, students can apply for admission to any of the country’s Central Universities (CUs). The CUET will be held in 13 languages at 154 exam locations. For the academic year 2022-23, Delhi University (DU) has made the CUET mandatory.

With the new CUET, all students now have an equal opportunity to achieve and get accepted to their first choice university. Consequently, every student will get a fair chance of passing this single admissions exam and applying to the best university.

For the CUET 2022 exam, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has released a detailed information bulletin. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the CUET-UG 2022 in the first week of July, according to the CUET Notification 2022, with the online application procedure running from April 6 through May 6.

Unlike other national entrance exams, the NTA CUET has evolved into the most thorough admission exam in the country. Our set of pointers below will help you prepare for the CUET more efficiently.

CUET 2022 exam pattern

The NTA has established the exam pattern, and the following are some of the topics you should focus on:

  • Domain-Specific Syllabus for listed subjects
  • General Awareness
  • Analytical Skills
  • Languages Test

With this in mind, you can start by developing a precise schedule to cover all of them before the exam while still having time to review.

CUET 2022 Exam Preparation Tips

Here are some helpful strategies for studying for the CUET

  1. Create a Study schedule-

You should invest approximately 6 hours per day in studying to achieve good scores. Begin with the most challenging topics to prepare. Try to spread out all of the topics evenly throughout the week, and set aside one day to rest. Set aside two hours for six domain-specific issues you’d like to learn more about.

  1. Make a list of colleges to which you would like to apply-

Before commencing your preparation, make a list of CUET Colleges or courses. Then look up the previous year’s cut-off. This will assist you in estimating the marks required to pass the CUET exam and be admitted to a specific program at your chosen college. It will also help you improve your exam-taking abilities.

  1. Segregate the syllabus-

The CUET 2022 UG programs’ syllabus is divided into four divisions. CUET 2022 will feature questions from languages in Sections 1A and 1B, domain-specific questions in Section II, and general test questions in Section III. Compile a list of topics and divide them into strong and weak parts based on your personal experience and weighted averages.

  1. Practice with Reading Comprehensions-

You could expect 5-8 reading comprehension questions with a typical word limit of 400-450 words. To improve your reading comprehension, make it a practice to read editorial portions of newspapers or novels. Your vocabulary and grammar will improve as you practice more. Attempt to talk in English as often as possible with others around you. You’ll also need to learn how to get around time-consuming queries.

  1. Practicing reasoning to enhance the speed of thought-

To acquire good grades in the quantitative topic, you’ll need more practice. Recall the fundamentals from ordinary eighth, nine, and tenth-grade mathematics, as most problems will be based on them. Averages, profit & loss, measurement, number system, geometry, simplification, quadratic equations, ratio & proportion, mixtures & allegations, time & word, time, speed, and distance should all be given more attention. Practice simple, moderate, and difficult-level questions to prepare for the CUET exam 2022.

  1. Newspaper reading-

You should work on strengthening your general knowledge every day. Make it a habit to read the newspaper every day for at least half an hour.

  1. Taking practice tests-

Working on the topics and writing tests based on the exam pattern is essential since it will help determine your strong points and weaknesses, which you can address to improve. For example, take at least one CUET Mock Test each week and analyze your results afterward. Also, try to answer as many MCQs as possible from your board test themes.

  1. Choosing the best books to prepare-

If you want to thoroughly understand the contents and perform well on the forthcoming exam, picking the right book is crucial. The following are among the best CUET Preparation Books you can use in your study.

  • Arihant’s English Grammar & Composition, authored by S.C. Gupta
  • Oswaal Books’ CUET Mock Papers
  • Quantitative Aptitude by R.S. Aggarwal
  • Fundamental Methods of Mathematical Economics – A.C. Chiang and K. Wainwright
  • Volumes 1 and 2 of H.C. Verma’s Concept of Physics

You can excel in CUET and board exams if you understand time management. If you are consistent in your preparation, you can improve your score. Following a comprehensive study strategy and preparation strategies will help you handle your boards and CUET preparation.
