Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is an all-India exam conducted by National Test Agency for admissions to UG programmes in central universities. It started with the academic session 2022-23 under the Ministry of Education (MoE). Delhi University (DU) Eligibility Criteria 2023

Delhi University accepts admissions through CUET, which has replaced the best-of-four-marks policy. Every course has different eligibility criteria, so candidates need to check their preferred programmes to get admission to DU. The CUET DU eligibility criteria have been divided into three parameters:

  • One language paper (mandatory)
  • Three domain subjects (mandatory)
  • Minimum percentage in the language paper
  • The university also recommends that candidates attend general test (Section 3)

General Eligibility Requirement for CUET 2023

There is no age limit for students to apply for CUET, and DU has also not imposed any age restriction on admissions. Candidates must have valid scores in their 12th grade. Any student with one year gap is also eligible to apply to DU. Other requirements for different courses are mentioned below:

B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry, Physics, and Polymer Science

  • According to DU eligibility criteria, students must get at least a 30% score in one language paper of Section 1A. 
  • For the domain-specific test, they must have appeared for three domain subjects, which include Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Botany, B.Sc. (Hons.) Zoology and B.Sc. (Hons.) Biomedical Science

  • For anyone looking for CUET DU admission in 2023, it is compulsory to appear in three domain subjects, including Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biochemistry/Biological Studies/Biotechnology.
  • Minimum 30% score is required in a language paper from Section 1A.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Anthropology and Biological Sciences

  • For the CUET exam, candidates must choose one language paper from Section 1 A along with three domain subjects, such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Biotechnology, and Biological Studies/Biochemistry.
  • At least a 30% score in the language paper from Section 1A.
  • Merit list is prepared according to CUET scores in that particular year after combining three domain-specific test.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science

  • According to the latest DU CUET eligibility criteria 2023, candidates must pick one language paper from Section 1A.
  • Mathematics is a compulsory subject, and students can choose two optional subjects from Section B in the domain-specific test.
  • The merit list is prepared based on the CUET scores of the year obtained after combining the scores of three subjects (Mathematics and two optional).

B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics and Statistics

  • One language paper from Section 1A.
  • Mathematics is a compulsory subject with two optional subjects from Section B for the domain-specific test.
  • A merit list is prepared based on the subjects mentioned above.

Bachelor of Management Studies [BMS], Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis), BBA (FIA)

  • One language paper from List A + Mathematics + Section 3 of CUET.

B.Voc. (Software Development)

Choose from the given combinations:

  • One language paper from List A + Mathematics + Two subjects (one from List B1).
  • One language paper from List A + Mathematics + Section 3 of CUET.

B.A. (Hons.) Journalism, and Hindi Patrakarita

According to CUET DU admission criteria for 2023, candidates must give CUET in either of the following subject combinations:

  • English from List A + Two subjects from List B1 + One subject from List B1 or List B2
  • English from List A + Section 3 of CUET.

B.A.(Hons.) Multi-Media and Mass Communication

  • One Language from List A + One subject from List B1 or List B2 + Section 3 of CUET. 

B.Tech Information Technology and Mathematical Innovation

  • One language from List A + Mathematics + Section 3 of CUET

B.A.(Hons.) English, B.A.(Hons) Hindi

  • Hindi language from List A + Two subjects from List B1 + One subject from List B1 or List B2

B.A.(Hons.) Punjabi, Bengali, Urdu, Arabic, Persian, French, German, Italian, Spanish

Candidates can choose from the given combinations:

  • Bengali from List A + Two subjects from List B1 + One subject from List B1 or List B2.
  • One language from List A + Two subjects from List B1 + One subject from List B1 or List B2.

B.Com. (Hons.), B.Com

Candidates can choose any one combination from the given options:

  • One language from List A + Two subjects from List B1 + One subject from List B1 or List B2.
  • One language from List A + Two subjects from List B1 or List B2 + Section 3 of CUET.

Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

  • One language from List A + Two subjects from List B1 + One subject from List B1 or List B2.

B.A.(Hons.) History, Political Science, Social Work, Sociology, Philosophy, and Economics

  • One language from List A + Mathematics + Two subjects (one must be from List B1).

Bachelor of Business Economics (BBE)

  • One language from List A + Mathematics + Section 3 of CUET
