Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University was established in 1996 by an Act of Parliament with the goal of providing a platform for studying the constitutions of various countries, leading to innovation in the teaching-learning process, ensuring the integration of courses from science and technology, and providing an inclusive environment for the socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society.

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Undergraduate Admissions:
Until 2020, admission to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University is based on the university’s in-house entrance test, which is held in June each year and is followed by a counselling round. In the event of a vacancy, admission is granted on the basis of the candidate’s merit. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, admissions to UG programmes offered by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University will be based on an online entrance test administered by the university beginning in the academic year 2021.
Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University UG Programs Reservation:
As a Central University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University offers admission reservations in accordance with central government guidelines.
- Schedule Caste (SC) / Schedule Tribe (ST): Students from the SC/ST categories receive 50% of the total seats.
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27 percent of the total intake is reserved for students from Other Backward Classes (OBC). Also, the Central Caste List must be followed.
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): The University has reserved 10% of seats for the EWS category.
- Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 5% of seats are reserved on a horizontal basis for students in the PWD category.
